Come discover Lucerne, a picture perfect town set against the backdrop of the majestic Alps and the glacial waters of Lake Lucerne! This walk loops through the old town and new town, visiting both sides of the Reuss River. Each site along the centuries old cobbled streets has a story to tell, from the Chapel Bridge's burning to the carnival celebrations. You'll pass by wine, grain and pig markets, each with its own unique character. You will see the guild houses, the other covered bridge, and find out about that castle on the hill. Along the way we will talk about the legends of Lucerne including the Ritter Palace, the Wild Man and others. And of course you will meet Lucerne’s famous Lion!
Your guide will meet you at your hotel or in front of Lucerne's main railway. The route will be adapted to the location of your hotel. If you like you can extend the tour or adjust the itinerary to your wishes. With special requests or questions please write us at www.swisswalkingtours.com.
